The Ministry of Mobility and Transportation ( SMT ) reported that in Puebla, only Uber and DIDI are authorized to provide executive transportation services. No other company has requested the formal registration required. Therefore, any other app or service would be illegal or » pirated .»
The agency issued this warning after detecting attempts to offer rides through social media. The most recent case is that of the Union of Associated Drivers of Zacatlán (UCAZ) , which is neither officially registered nor authorized. Therefore, it cannot operate as an executive transportation platform in the state.
The SMT urged drivers not to be fooled by supposedly unregistered companies. Operating without authorization can result in severe fines and the seizure of vehicles during inspection operations.
He also urged the people of Zacatlán to remain vigilant. Do not hire unregistered transportation services, as they pose a risk to the safety of passengers in the event of an accident.
Providing service without permits constitutes a violation of the Puebla State Transportation Law and its Regulations. Therefore, it will be sanctioned in accordance with current regulations.
Finally, Secretary Silvia Tanús reminded drivers that Uber and DIDI vehicles must comply with vehicle inspections. Furthermore, during the second half of the year, they must update their registration with the SMT.
